Sinawali is a web based experience that looks into the history and impact of Filipino Martial Arts. For my Bachelor of Design capstone project, I wanted to dedicate my final quarter to a subject deeply connected to my identity, culture, and childhood, leading to my deep dive into Filipino Martial Arts.

In my design process, I was inspired by the bright colors of the Filipino Martial Arts uniforms and books. I was also very inspired by the DVD Instructionals that were prominent in Filipino Martial Arts. These things combined helped me align on a color palette, typeface, and aesthetic that felt authentic to what I was designing.
Sinawali was presented amongst my graduating peers in the UW Design Show 2024 exhibition. The website was displayed alongside the posters, CRT TV, and eskrima sticks for participative use.
I am thankful to have been able to display my work alongside all of the my classmates' wonderful projects, and am even more thankful to graduate with such passionate and inspired designers. Also, thank you to Farrel Sudrajat for the fantastic photos of the exhibit!
